MALAYSIA reports a total of 19,057 Covid cases today, reporting below 20,000 cases for two straight days.
Cases in Selangor continued to decline, with 3,775 infections reported in the last 24 hours.
However, Sarawak saw its cases rise to 2,723, while Sabah detected 2,279 cases and Johor with 2,077.
Four states detected more than 1,000 cases that are: Penang – 1,558, Perak – 1,450, Kelantan – 1,434 and Kedah – 1,329.
Another four states reported three digit cases:
KL – 711, Terengganu – 605, Pahang – 410, Melaka – 338 and Negeri Sembilan – 242.
Perlis saw its infections increase to 99 while Putrajaya with 18 cases.
Labuan remained with single digit cases at only 9.
Meanwhile, the country’s death toll rose to 17,883 as 362 new deaths were reported today.
Out of 362, 104 were brought-in-dead cases.
There are now 256,302 active cases currently being treated nationwide, with 978 in the ICU and a whooping 460 intubated.
For the second consecutive day, recovery cases are higher than new cases with 21,582, pushing the number of total recoveries to 1,550,254.
16 new clusters were identified, out of which 12 were from workplaces.–by TMR
