First time Shopee and ShopeePay users can collect RM100 via eDuit

FIRST-TIME Shopee and ShopeePay users are now able to claim RM100 through eDuit initiative that aims to encourage more Malaysians to embrace digitalisation amid the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Those eligible would be rewarded with RM25 ShopeePay credit upon successfully activating their ShopeePay premium account, RM15 welcome voucher applicable on their first purchase on Shopee and RM60 worth of ShopeePay vouchers which will reward users with attractive discounts and cashbacks for purchases at participating offline merchants’ outlets. 

The eDuit initiative is only applicable for users who have not purchased anything from Shopee. 

They would have up to a maximum of seven days to utilise their ShopeePay credit while up to 14 days is required for them to use their offline vouchers, once they receive these perks. 

According to Shopee COO Terence Pang, they are aware of the struggles of Malaysians with the ongoing pandemic. 

“Therefore, we have introduced this special campaign to help alleviate the burden of consumers and give them access to affordable daily essentials during this difficult period. 

“This effort is also in line with Malaysia’s digital agenda which aims to drive digitalisation of retail through e-commerce, as well as contactless transactions,” he said. 

Their online and offline retail partners stand to benefit from the sales activities from eDuit and the 9.9 Super Shopping Day, which would contribute positively to the domestic economy. 

On the other hand, Malaysia Digital Economy Corp chief digital business officer Aiza Azreen 

Ahmad said the eDuit initiative is in line with their goals which pushes digitalisation efforts. 

“e-Wallet and e-Payment offer convenience, enhanced security and even rewards and are important components of e-commerce and digitalisation efforts,” she said. 

Aiza Azreen also said this initiative is in tandem with the government’s initiatives and is a welcomed effort as they seek to step up public-private collaborations in face of challenges during these business unusual times. 

The Shopee 9.9 Super Shopping Day campaign is currently taking place till Sept 9 and shoppers can claim free shipping and 99% coins cashback vouchers, both with no minimum spend.
