SOLUTION Group Bhd and DKSH Holdings (Malaysia) Bhd are working together to assist the government to speed up the rate of vaccination in the country, as single-dose vaccines are more convenient and effective in states that have many areas with low accessibility.

DKSH Malaysia has been appointed by the Ministry of Health to handle the logistics and distribution of CanSino vaccine, known as Convidecia to Vaccination Administration Centres (PPV) in the country, DKSH said in a statement today.

Solution Biologics Sdn Bhd (SOLBIO), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SGB, is the exclusive distributor and manufacturing partner of CanSino in ASEAN, also intends to collaborate with DKSH Malaysia to supply Convidecia to the private sector as soon as this is allowed by the government.

“We are working with DKSH Malaysia to get the vaccine doses to the MOH-operated vaccination centres as efficiently as possible while ensuring that the vaccines are handled in a safe and secure manner

“More doses will be available shortly as we get the supply from CanSino Biologics Inc in the form of finished doses and bulk API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient). We expect to be able to supply the private sector as soon as we have completed the supply of the CanSino vaccine to the government,” said Solution Group MD Barry Lim.

Gary Chee, Vice President, Business Unit Healthcare, DKSH Malaysia said that DKSH has the logistics network and the experience of providing reliable and safe cold chain services at the temperatures required for storing Convidecia.

“Our ISO-certified healthcare distribution centre in Shah Alam, Selangor, has the existing infrastructure to safely store the vaccine before it is moved to the various vaccination centres throughout the country,” said Gary.
