PR1MA provides ten buses to accelerate MOVAK programme

1Malaysia People’s Housing Programme (PR1MA) has provided ten buses for the Community Vaccine Mobilisation (MOVAK) programme in Penang, Kedah and Perlis.

PR1MA chairman Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said the company wanted to make the Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme (NCIP) a success through the MOVAK programme implemented under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT).

He noted that the buses can provide vaccines to about 7,500 residents in Perlis, 5,000 residents in Kedah and 11,000 residents in Penang.

“This is one of the efforts by PR1MA as a government agency to accelerate vaccination rates so that they can be protected from this Covid-19 outbreak.

“PR1MA as an agency under KPKT is called to carry out social services society in line with its own principles of corporate social responsibility (CSR) that is, to help those in need, build community support against PR1MA and at the same time improve the social governance of PR1MA to the community.

“With the role of PR1MA, it is also hoped to help in increasing the rate of vaccination by facilitating local access to existing vaccines,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Shahidan, who is also the Member of Parliament for Arau said the MOVAK programme in Perlis will run from Aug 23 until Aug 25.

The locations used were namely, Kangar Municipal Council Square in Pauh, Mata Ayer FELDA Hall, Padang Semarak Hall, Batas Linang Simpang Empat Internet Centre Hall, Kubang Gajah Service Centre and Mentaloon Square.

As for Kedah, the programme will be held on Aug 27 and Aug 28 at Kulim Stadium, Laguna Merbuk Sungai Petani Town Hall, and Jitra Kubang Pasu Hall.

The PR1MA community, which is the residents of PR1MA, are also involved as a vaccine recipient for the MOVAK programme in Perlis, Kedah and Penang.

According to KPKT, this MOVAK initiative is a collaboration between KPKT, the Ministry of National Unity (KPN), Ministry of Health (MoH), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF), state CITF and the state Health Department.

The initiative which was launched on July 6 this year, has been implemented in multiple locations and was leveraged by various target groups.
