Proton launches 2022 Iriz, Persona

PROTON Holdings Bhd has launched the new 2022 Proton Iriz and Persona which are priced from RM40,800 and RM45,800 respectively.

They have both been upgraded in their design elements and features as well as improvement in comfort and safety for passengers.

The new models come with new colours which are Citric Orange and Passion Red for the Iriz and Space Grey for the Persona.

The Iriz’s bumper has been redesigned with the infinite weave with ethereal bow grille in red while for the Persona, it comes in chrome.

For Iriz, the front bumper design comes with a different design and all-round body mouldings from the front to rear bumper and a black roof with rails.

The new models come with LED headlamps that support auto on/off and “follow me home” functions while the design is complemented by new 16-inch alloy wheels, a black roof finish and new finishing on the rear combination lamps.

This time around, Iriz has introduced the Active variant which spots a stylish and sportier exterior.

On the other hand, the new models have introduced a new eightinch floating infotainment head unit with voice command functions where drivers are now able to control the air-conditioning and driver’s window by voice command.

The new head unit is located at the top of the instrument panel for easy access and it is matched with the repositioned air vents.

The air-conditioning is now operated with a digital display and a N95 cabin filter fitted as standard.

The new centre console comes with an armrest and an improved storage space.

The interior ambience comprises red highlights in Iriz Active, where it is embroidered on the front seats, door trims and carpet mats, as well as red stitching on the steering wheel and red seat belts.

Adding a subtle sporting touch, Iriz Active also comes with aluminium sport pedals.

To complement the new interior design, the 2022 Proton Persona Premium’s seats and door trims are covered in brown leatherette, which is also found in the Proton X70.

With three located at the front, two at the rear and one behind the rear-view mirror, to power a dashcam, the two new models have a total of six USB ports to suit its passengers digital lifestyle.

They also have 510-litre of boot space that can be expanded by folding the rear seats as well as a reverse camera and parking sensors to provide visual and audible parking assistance.

To encourage more efficient driving to save fuel consumption, the 2022 Proton Iriz and Persona also come with an Eco mode switch.

Proton Edar CEO Roslan Abdullah said both Iriz and Persona have been popular since their launch.

“The styling changes and addition of a new Active variant for Iriz will help boost their visual appeal while the changes we have made to the interior and infotainment system ensure they deliver better comfort and connectivity while retaining Proton’s trademark driving experience,” he added.

Both models have received the 5-star Asean NCAP rating and come with a comprehensive list of safety features such as reinforced body structure using hot press formed steel, electronic stability control, traction control system and hill hold assist.

The variants that are available for the 2022 Iriz are 1.3L Standard, CVT 1.6L, Executive CVT 1.6L and Active CVT that are priced from RM40,800 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM42,800 in East Malaysia.

For the 2022 Persona, the variants available are the Persona 1.6L Standard CVT, 1.6L Executive CVT and 1.6L Premium CVT priced from RM45,800 in peninsular and RM45,800 in East Malaysia.

Both the Iriz and Persona come with five-year warranties or 150,000km, whichever comes first and three times free labour services.

For the 2022 Iriz Active and Persona Premium, there will be a five-year data package with 1GB each month.
