SMEs must adopt automation to stay competitive

SMALL and medium enterprises (SMEs) need to immediately adapt automation in their businesses to remain competitive and continue to be resilient through the impact of the Covid-19 crisis.

Microsoft Dynamic 365 head of sales Pratheep Kumar Arumugam said with the current market rapidly changing due to the pandemic, many businesses are adopting automation to remain competitive.

He said SMEs need to prioritise business automation which is set to be the key driver for their businesses after the pandemic.

Pratheep added that SMEs need to start and embark on this journey to stay competitive regardless of what industry they are running, be it manufacturing or healthcare.

“Business automation can give them better insights including on their customers, sales and production,” he said at Unifi Reboot 6.0 yesterday.

Meanwhile, Malaysia Digital Economy Corp chief digital business officer Aiza Azreen Ahmad (picture) said there are plenty of businesses and SMEs, even individuals who are looking for greater reach through online platforms.

“The pandemic has changed the behaviour of consumers and therefore, businesses must realise that they need to change,” she said.

Unifi Reboot 6.0 focused on how businesses must adapt with the current shift of technology for their business by adopting automation to remain competitive.
