THE first payments of i-Citra will be made starting next Tuesday (August 3), to Employees Provident Fund (EPF) members whose applications have been approved.
Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said i-Citra is expected to benefit about four million EPF members who will receive a monthly payment of RM1,000 for a period of five months.
“EPF has set up a hotline to allow EPF members to seek any clarification regarding i-Citra,” Tengku Zafrul said in Dewan Rakyat today, adding that the scheme has helped EPF members tide over the economic impact of the pandemic.
“The government has provided various other financial and non-financial assistance to the people throughout the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.
These include the six-month loan moratorium as well as education loan repayment such as the Public Service Department (JPA), Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Skills Development Fund Corporation (PTPK) and the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN).
