KUALA LUMPUR – The 28th National Seminar on Educational Management and Leadership organised by the Aminuddin Baki Institute (IAB) will be held virtually from today until July 16.
IAB Talent Assessment and Development Centre head Dr Rohana Abdul Rahim said the seminar was aimed at providing a platform for leaders in education to share their knowledge, experience, best practices and research findings.
“The results of this seminar can trigger various ideas about leadership that can be adapted by the participants in their respective schools or organisations in implementing suitable activities or programmes,” she said during an interview with Bernama Radio today.
The seminar, which is expected to be officiated by Senior Education Minister Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin, has received about 3,500 entries so far, while individuals who have not registered may follow the seminar on Youtube.
Further information on the seminar can be found at https://esidang.iab.edu.my.
Meanwhile, Rohana said leaders in the education sector such as school principals and college deans as well as other stakeholders should look at the COVID-19 challenge as an opportunity to spark new ideas in their leadership.
She said the leaders themselves should become catalysts for the change.
“For example, to support government’s efforts (during the pandemic), a proper understanding of the importance of vaccination and compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) is very important to be communicated effectively in every organisation, in ensuring public safety and health,” she said.
