MORE than 1,800 bottom 40% (B40) families have received cash aid from the Tabung Warga TNB Prihatin (WTP) with disbursements totalling over RM1 million.
Tabung WTP is a Tenaga Nasional Bhd’s (TNB) staff effort to help individuals in need, particularly during the pandemic, in line with TNB’s mission to brighten the lives of the people of this country.
TNB chairman Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said the fund has so far raised RM1.52 million, thanks to the generosity of TNB employees and the company’s internal associations who had voluntarily initiated the fund.
He added that the encouraging response displayed by TNB employees to the success of this fund is a manifestation of the company’s noble principles, which include caring, cooperation, putting customers first, integrity, professionalism and vision, all of which are critical to TNB’s overall efforts.
To support the National Recovery Plan, TNB will continue its key principle to save lives, protect the vulnerable, ensure steady electricity supply and drive economic development.
“This charity fund also serves as a reminder to our staff to always share the good fortune during these unprecedented times,” Mahdzir said.
Apart from Tabung WTP, TNB has supported over 10,000 B40 individuals with various aids amounting to approximately RM9.5 million since the beginning of this year, including financing for housing rebuilding and repair, distribution of food supplies and basic requirements, as well as pocket money.
