Damanlela construction site records 630 new cases

DAMANLELA construction site has detected 630 new Covid-19 cases, out of 1550 detected in Kuala Lumpur today.

This is also a daily new record for Kuala Lumpur.

Prior to this, the Damanlela cluster was first discovered on November 15.

Health DG Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah had said that the Damanlela site cluster had spread to six generations.

Up until March 13 when it was declared as expired, the cluster had 2,785 cases.

According to CIDB Malaysia, based on its checks from July 1 until yesterday, 188 out of the 810 operating sites were found to breach the standard operating procedures, while another 622 (77%) sites complied with the SOPs.

All 188 sites construction not complying with the SOP was ordered to close immediately.

Malaysia recorded a total of 7,654 new cases today, after weeks of recording below 7,000 cases.

This brought the total positive cases in the country to 792,693.

Selangor continued to lead the highest number of infections with 3,260.

Negeri Sembilan detected up to 698 new cases while Kedah also reported an increase in new cases with 337.

Only four states – Perak, Terengganu, Labuan and Putrajaya reported double-digit cases while Perlis identified two cases. –TMR
