FIVE states – Perlis, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang – will transition into the Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) from Monday (July 5).
Senior minister (security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the transition was due to the fact that these states have achieved three objectives to move into another phase in the NRP.
The criteria include recording below 4,000 cases for seven consecutive days, having the rate of bed use in the intensive care unit (ICU) stands at moderate levels, as well as 10% vaccination rates for populations that have received two complete doses.
The move from the first to second phase would take into consideration the aforementioned indicators.
Meanwhile interstate and inter-district movement are allowed for long -distance married couples in the Phase 2 of NRP
The permission to travel, however, is subject to the approval of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).
“Many want to hear about cross -state and district movements by long -distance couples. In fact, I myself have received appeals on this matter.
“So in phase two, we allow inter-state and inter-district travels for long-distance married couples but only for emergencies and special needs with the approval of PDRM,” Ismail Sabri said in a press conference with Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz today.
