GAS Malaysia Bhd appoints former Petronas CEO Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin (picture) as its Chairman effective 1 July 2021.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia Gas Malaysia said, the group’s current independent and non-executive chairman Datuk Hasni Harun will resign effective 30 July to pursue other commitments.

Wan Zulkiflee, 61 is currently the non-executive group Chairman of Malaysia Airlines Berhad and Malaysia Aviation Group Berhad since 1 July 2020.

Before joining Malaysia Airlines Berhad, Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee served as the President and GCEO of Petronas from April 2015 until June 2020.

He also served as the first non-American board of director in oil and gas giant Exxon Mobil Corporation from February to June 2021.

Gas Malaysia’s shares were traded unchanged at RM2.74.
