Covid-19: 4,743 new cases detected

MALAYSIA detected a total of 4,743 cases as of noon today, a slight increase than 4,611 recorded yesterday.

This is also the second consecutive day where Malaysia reported below 5,000 Covid cases.

The new cases brought a total of new infections to 705,762.

Selangor saw its daily cases to remain below 2,00o with 1,566 cases detected within the past 24 hours. The state continued to top the number of infections than other states.

Kuala Lumpur took the second spot with 635 cases, followed by Negeri Sembilan (585) and Sarawak (507).

Separately, Bernama reported that over six million doses of  Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the country as of June 21, said Health Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.

He said as of Monday, a total of 4,384,441 individuals had received the first dose, and 1,666,757 had completed the second dose, bringing the total doses administered to 6,051,198.
