MENTERI Besar Selangor Inc (MBI Selangor) through corporate social responsibility (CSR) is offering rebates on transportation for the uptake of Covid-19 vaccine via the services of e-hailing company Grab.

This is in line with the announcement made by Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari in the Kita Selangor 2.0 Package on Jun 9, 2021.

In a statement today, MBI Selangor together with the state government has entered into a collaboration with Grab, by providing a rebate of RM10 for each round trip for e-hailing services that order transportation for the purpose of travel to get vaccinated to vaccine centres (PPVs) starting Jul 1.

“This initiative will benefit individuals aged 50 and above throughout Selangor who have a Grab application account. It also involves travel to any 34 PPVs in Selangor.

“In addition, this initiative aims to encourage and facilitate the people of Selangor, especially those aged 50 and above to take the vaccine. The Community Service Centres of each State Legislative Assembly also help coordinate transportation assistance for residents who live far from PPVs,” said MBI Selangor.

It said the rebate date is from Jul 1 to Sept 30, 2021 and applications can be made from Jun 20 through the website www.platselangor.com

The public can also contact via email to [email protected] for any further information on this initiative.

Apart from that, the state government through the Kita 2.0 Package has also formulated three main strategies, namely caring for the welfare and survival of the people, saving industry and the economic sector as well as entrepreneurs in Selangor, and health control to curb the spread of the epidemic.

The strategies are included in the state’s 25 initiatives that cost a total of RM551.56 million comprising, among others, food basket programme, financial assistance to the families of Covid-19 patients who passed away, Selangor Internet data, Selangor student assistance, special assistance of RM500 for the disabled (OKU), Selangor Internet Scheme for M40 (SISM40), and the Covid-19 Community Screening Test Phase 3.
