China successfully launches Shenzhou-12 manned spacecraft to new orbital station

BEIJING – China’s Long March 2F carrier rocket with the Shenzhou-12 manned spacecraft was launched on Thursday to the Tiangong orbital station under construction, Sputnik reported.

The launch was broadcast by China Central Television.

There are three astronauts on board.

The launch took place from the Jiuquan space centre in Gansu province in northwestern China.

Shenzhou-12 entered the specified orbit, the launch was recognised as successful, according to a Chinese manned flight programme report.
