2020’s Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results show a better performance with a National Average Grade (GPN) of 4.80 compared with 4.86 in 2019.
Senior Education Minister, Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin said it was the best GPN achievement in five years despite the pandemic, and the trend steadily declines from 5.05 in 2016.
“The performance of candidates in urban and rural areas recorded an increase. However, the achievement candidates in rural areas showed a higher improvement than candidates in urban areas.
“This makes the achievement gap between urban and rural areas narrow to 0.38 at in 2020 compared to 0.44 in 2019,” he said in a virtual press conference today.
In 2020, a total of 381,894 candidates sat for the SPM examination.
Official result slips can be downloaded from June 14, certificates will be distributed in stages from July 10.
