CASHLESS transaction will be the main option for all government agencies by 2022, said Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz (picture).

Tengku Zafrul said this will be assisted by the recently launched MyDIGITAL initiative which will ensure the e-payment mechanisms chart a better transactional security with improved coordination, thus strengthening information sharing among the government agencies.

This, he said, would lead to a more transparent process and enhance communications on the anti-corruption agenda.

“As at the end of last year, 60% of the government’s total collection was through e-payment,” Tengku Zafrul said when officiating the Malaysian Institute of Accountants Conference 2021, which was held virtually today.

MyDIGITAL is the nation’s digital economy blueprint — envisioning how the country will move towards a more digitally connected economy on the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) path.
