Motac extends relaxation period for tour operators licensed under the Industry Act

THE Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac) has relaxed the conditions for tour operators that are licensed under the Industry Act 482 in order to alleviate the financial burdens and problems faced by the companies affected by Covid-19.

Motac said in a statement that the ministry has agreed for some leeway that will be effective starting from July 1, 2021.

“The ministry has agreed to extend of flexibility in terms of premises area for operating from July 1 to Dec 31, as well as extend the permission for other businesses on tour operators’ company premises from July 1 to Dec 31; and extend the rental period of business premises via co-sharing office space until Dec 31,” it said.

The relaxation is expected to benefit a total of 6,945 tour entrepreneurs that are licensed to conduct travel businesses.
