He was 75 years old.

Lim was admitted to the hospital a week ago after a fall at his home on May 25 and was reportedly in a stable condition.

The cause of death, however, is still not publicly known.

In a statement, LUCT said it was humbled by the loving condolences and support extended by so many.

“We ask for privacy as we mourn a man we are very proud of,” it said.

The university described Lim as a visionary whose career had been synonymous with creativity.

“He assisted in developing innovative education globally, empowering especially the developing world,” it added.

LUCT was established in 1991 and has a presence across Africa, Europe and Asia, with its main campus located in Malaysia with over 30,000 students from over 150 countries.

Its campuses are located in Cyberjaya, Melaka, Kuching, Botswana, Cambodia, Lesotho, Sierra Leone, Eswatini, Uganda and the United Kingdom.

It was the first private college institute to be recognised as a university college in 2002.

Aside from being the founder and president of LUCT, Lim was an artist, designer, author, entrepreneur and philanthropist.

He was recognised as the Father of Innovation in Creative Education by the government.

In his lifetime, Lim received over 730 awards, honours and recognitions from industries, governments and civil society groups across five continents.
