THE government will roll out a Covid-19 vaccination trucks pilot programme in Kuala Lumpur to curb the spread of the virus which has crossed the 9,000 daily mark last week.
National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said he had discussed with Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa on the pilot programme which will be carried out at People’s Housing Projects (PPRs) and construction sites in KL.
“We will run the pilot programmes at PPRs and construction sites before deciding if we should implement it at a larger scale,” he said at the weekly Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) media briefing today.
The FT ministry is aiming to roll out 30 mobile trucks to reach the areas within the city centre.
According to Khairy, about 100 vaccinations can be executed in a day via a single truck.
As for media personnel, he said 5,867 names have been sent for checks to receive vaccination appointments.
“We would be able to give their vaccination appointments by early-June,” he said.
