Covid-19: 4,865 cases, new daily record of 47 deaths

MALAYSIA reported 47 deaths due to Covid-19 as of noon today, the highest daily fatality rate surpassing the 45 deaths recorded yesterday.

The number of total deaths now stood at 1994.

Up to 531 patients are being treated in the ICU with 277 of them requiring respiratory aid.

However, 3,497 patients have recovered and discharged from the hospital, increasing the number of cumulative recoveries to 432,600.

There are now 44,827 active cases nationwide.

Earlier the Ministry of Health (MOH) reported a total of 4,865 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, bringing the total confirmed cases to 479,241.

Selangor continued to record the highest infection with 1,743 cases.
 
Sarawak also saw its new cases rose to 512, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 477 cases, Johor (407) and Kelantan with 406.
 
Only two states recorded a single digit case with Perlis (2) and Labuan (6).
