THE Health Ministry (MoH) is considering a full-scale Movement Control Order (MCO) in Selangor if the state fails to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Its Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said the government will also look into tightening the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the state.
He added that the current implementation of MCO in Selangor has allowed the authorities to conduct more tests and isolations of positive cases.
“The state government had also conducted RTK-Antigen tests in hotspot areas which enabled quick contact tracing.
“However, looking at the worrying number of cases in Selangor lately, we need to suggest to the government that stricter SOPs are needed and a full and comprehensive MCO should be considered for Selangor, “ he said in a press conference today.
Selangor recorded the highest daily infection with 1,275 cases yesterday, with four new clusters reported.
The state had also been recording four-digit cases almost daily for the past few months, with a total of 153,663 cumulative cases since the pandemic started.
