FORMER Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad apologised for breaching the SOP during his recent work visit in Langkawi.
He said he was in Langkawi on May 8 to fulfill several programs to present donations for the month of Ramadhan and Aidilfitri in my Parliamentary constituency.
Among the Raya donations to the residents at Surau Tsunami Batu Arang, Kuala Teriang, Kuah.
“I was informed at the event, I had violated the SOP by not taking body temperature when entering the surau. This is a mistake. This should not happen.
“I apologize for not following the SOP. I will accept any action in accordance with the law,” he said in a statement today.
Dr Mahathir stressed that the SOP should be followed by anyone because this can help curb the spread of the disease.
“We must not take it lightly. Once again I apologise for violating this rule,” he said.
