MALAYSIA reported 4,498 Covid-19 cases as of noon today, pushing the number of total infections in the country to 432,425 cases.
From the new infections, only five involved imported transmission.
Selangor continued to record the highest number of daily infections with 1,424 cases.
Sarawak also saw a drastic jump in positive cases with 750 detected today than 391 cases yesterday.
Other states with high cases include Kuala Lumpur with 436, Johor (327), Pulau Pinang (313), Kelantan (297) and Kedah (209).
Health DG Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also said that the number of cases in the Intensive Care Units (ICU) rose to 372 with 211 patients are requiring the respiratory aids.
A total of 3,449 patients have recovered, bringing the number of recoveries to 396,004.
Currently there are 34,789 active cases being treated nationwide.
22 deaths were reported, increasing the number of total deaths to 1,632.
