A RESEARCH conducted by Finder.com reveals that over two-fifths (44.36%) of Malaysians want to travel in the next three months.
The numbers increased from 38.52% in March and 37.68% in February based on Finder’s Travel Index.
Domestic tourism is a more popular option for Malaysians, with 23.11% wanting a local vacation in May according to the April survey.
However, the number dropped to 7.97% for holidays in June and 5.64% for July.
Moreover, 31.08% of Malaysians want to travel locally in the coming three months, which is slightly higher from the 27.53% who said the same in Finder’s March survey and 26.43% in February.
For overseas vacations, the April survey revealed that the 9.03% of Malaysians want to travel in May, 5.84% in June and 7.84% in July.
It also showed that Malaysian men want to travel more compared to women.
The overall statistics in the April survey revealed that 48.63% of men wanted to travel more, 40.98% in the March survey and 41.27% in February.
Whereas for women, the overall statistics indicated that only 40.76% want to travel more (April), 35.75% in March and 33.12% in February.
With 44.36%, Malaysia ranked the highest in wanting to travel in the next three months followed by India (41.15%) and the Philippines (38.58%).
Meanwhile, Canadians want to travel the least where only 6.49% have plans to travel in the coming three months.
