THE payment for Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) phase 2 will be done in stages from May 7, involving an allocation of RM2.75 billion.
Finance minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz said in a statement today that this payment will benefit 3.6 million households, 1 million senior citizens (single/unmarried) and 3.8 million single individuals.
The fund will be dted directly to their bank accounts from May 7 until May 12. For recipients who do not have bank accounts, the funds will be channeled via Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) from May 17.
“The increase in allocation is due to the improvement in the payment rate to ecipient. If previously the recipient from the household category received RM300 and
the single recipient received RM150, now the payment to the recipient is in between RM150 to RM600, based on the eligibility of each recipient,” Tengku Zafrul said.
Eligible recipients can check their status from May 7 through the link https://bpr.hasil.gov.my.
“To ensure that the BPR programme will benefit those who are truly eligible, the appeal application period will be open from June 15 until June 30, 2021,” he added.
