Covid-19: Malaysia records more than 2,000 cases for nine consecutive days

MALAYSIA records more than 2,000 Covid-19 cases for nine consecutive days, according to the Health Ministry data.

As of noon today, the country recorded 2,847 daily infections. Selangor reported the highest number of cases with 748, followed by Sarawak (717) and Kelantan (476). 

Only Perlis did not identify any new cases. To date, there were 387,535 positive cases detected since the pandemic broke out in Malaysia last January.

Active cases currently being treated in the country rose to 22,512, with 260 patients in the ICU and 125 of them are intubated.

The number of recovered patients stood at 2,341 bringing the cumulative recoveries to 363,608.

However, eight new deaths were also reported in the past 24 hours, increasing the number of total fatalities to 1,415.
