Covid-19 cases in Johor and Kelantan sharply increased to 387 and 332 respectively in the last 24 hours compared to only 100 and 225 cases on Saturday.
However, Sarawak recorded the highest number of daily cases with 508, taking over from Selangor with 431 cases, according to data from Health Ministry.
Other states with three digit cases are Kuala Lumpur with 176 cases and Sabah with 102 cases.
In total Malaysia identified 2,195 new Covid cases as of noon today.
Earlier today it was reported that schools and education institutions in Kelantan will be closed from today until April 26 due to rising number of cases.
Meanwhile Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said that a total of 1,135,015 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered as of April 17.
From the figure, 695,729 individuals have received the first jab while 439,286 have received the second jab.
A total of 8,946,750 people have registered for vaccination in the country.
