DIGITAL travel platform Agoda has launched Agoda Special Offers (ASOs) globally following soft launches in key Asian markets.

The firm said in a statement yesterday that the ASOs product is built on the GoLocal initiative, aimed at promoting domestic travel.

Hotel partners can now easily offer these desired benefits on Agoda, as well as leverage its platform’s global reach to amplify these promotions to a wider range of customers loyal to the Agoda brand.

Hotel partners are able to sign up to offer exclusive and non-exclusive packages and value-added benefits with rooms, such as food and beverage vouchers, onsite or offsite experiences; and special room upgrade deals.

Agoda South-East Asia and Oceania regional director Enric Casals said last year, the platform saw travellers exploring domestic markets again while staying hyperlocal and in hotels and places that were familiar.

“Recently, we have seen a growth of travellers that are all about self-care, pampering and indulgence, because, quite simply, they ‘are worth it’. But this traveller is savvy about deals and has high expectations,” he said.

Casals said in a recent customer survey, guests said receiving additional perks like room upgrades and earlier check-ins were the second-most important factor in decision making after prices.

The ASOs product is supported by dedicated landing pages across 10 markets and more than 1,700 hotels already on board to provide guests with extra perks during stays.

“Travellers want to find comparisons in one place, and that’s where ASOs product comes in. By providing more benefits that travellers are looking out for, hotels can expect higher customer satisfaction, and more spending at their property with greater utilisation of their facilities,” he said.

Meanwhile, Casals said Agoda’s comprehensive marketing campaign will ensure partners enjoy higher exposure and click-throughs.

“With dedicated landing pages showcasing these special offer packages on desktop and mobile, consumers can easily access and browse the range of offers most suited to their travel needs.
