Covid-19: Active cases breach 15,000

MALAYSIA has 15,059 active Covid-19 cases, following an increase of daily infections with 1,510 today.

The number of recoveries continued to be lower than new cases with 1,248 were reported.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases to 359,117 and cured cases to 342,737.

The number of patients currently seeking treatment in the Intensive Care Units (ICU) are 194 with 81 of them requiring respiratory aids.

Selangor recorded the highest daily new cases with 415, followed by Sarawak (296), Kelantan (171) and Sabah (131).

There are eight (8) death cases involving four (4) cases in Sarawak, three (3) cases in Selangor, and one (1) case in Pahang. All involved Malaysian citizens. The cumulative number of deaths stood at 1,321.

There were nine detected new clusters in the country, with six of them were from work place while the remaining three were from community.

To date there are 1,451 Covid-19 clusters nationwide with 1108 have expired.

There are 343 active clusters in Malaysia, with 57 are still reporting additional cases.
