THE Ministry of Human Resources (MoHR) via Prihatin has approved grant funds worth RM1 million for trade unions in the country this year.
MoHR Datuk Seri M Saravanan (picture) said the ministry via its Trade Union Affairs Department (JHEKS) received 210 applications for the Trade Union Development Grant (GPKS) nationwide with a total applications worth RM6.7 million.
“However, with current allocation limitations, JHEKS has approved a total of 128 applications for now that fill all requirements with a total of RM1 million,” he said at the grant release in Selangor today.
The grant handing today totalled to RM314,500 for 48 trade unions that operate within the central region of Malaysia, and the remaining is expected to for handing in the future for other regions.
