Top Glove awarded 5th win for human resource practices

TOP Glove Corp Bhd was named one of HR Asia’s Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2020 (Malaysia). This marks the fifth consecutive year that the company has won this award, a testament to its human resource best practices. In a statement yesterday, the company said as the world’s largest manufacturer of gloves that serves 2,000 customers in 195 countries, Top Glove’s pride is its 21,000 strong workforce across about 50 factories and offices. With the company recording a stellar financial performance year-on-year, its golden rule places the holistic wellness of its people at the heart of its business; supporting organisational performance while investing in its people.

Vivocom completes listing on ACE Market

VIVOCOM International Holdings Bhd completed a successful listing of 164.25 million consideration shares and another 169.93 private placement shares on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia. Vivocom announced in February that it had secured a lucrative sand contract worth RM3.79 billion that could potentially soar to RM6 billion. The group will also focus on its property development project following the completion of its 45%-stake acquisition in V Development Sdn Bhd.

Pos Malaysia’s chairman Yasmin steps down

DATUK Yasmin Mahmood is stepping down as Pos Malaysia Bhd’s independent non-executive chairman effective April 1,2021. She expressed her intention to step down due to her growing responsibilities in Malaysia and regionally. In a statement yesterday, Pos Malaysia said Yasmin steered the board and management towards embracing digital initiatives, rationalising the postal tariff, as well as putting the company on the right footing towards a robust turnaround plan. Pos Malaysia has appointed one of its current board members, Datuk Seri Syed Faisal Albar Syed Ali Rethza Albar as its non-executive chairman to replace Yasmin. Syed Faisal Albar is currently the group MD of DRB-Hicom Bhd, who had served as group MD of Pos Malaysia from 2008 to 2011.

FGV appoints former Felda DG as chairman

FGV Holdings Bhd yesterday announced the appointment of former Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) DG Datuk Dzulkifli Abd Wahab as its new chairman effective April 1, 2021. In a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, FGV said Dzulkifli will replace Datuk Wira Azhar Abdul Hamid who on March 19 announced his resignation to pursue other interests, after being chairman for over three years. The company said Dzulkifli has 35 years of experience in the plantation field. He began his career with Felda in 1977 and was appointed DG of Felda in 2009 where he held the position for three years until 2012.
