BINTAI Kinden Corp Bhd has entered into a distribution agreement with South Korea’s SLAB Asia Co Ltd to supply its cold chain boxes for the storage and distribution of Covid-19 vaccines in Indonesia.

In a filing exchange yesterday, Bintai Kinden said the agreement with SLAB Asia, through its subsidiary Bintai Healthcare Sdn Bhd (BHSB), encompasses the appointment of BHSB as the exclusive distributor of the full range of Greenie Medi Cold Chain Box within the geographical territories of Indonesia.

The agreement will be valid for a period of one year and will continue to be in effect if both parties agree to renew on a yearly basis, unless a written notice to terminate the deal is issued three months before the specified end date.

Bintai Kinden said the cold chain box is a purpose-built box for exclusive use in the logistics of medical products. It is designed to keep inbox temperatures of up to -70°C at an optimal level of up to 120 hours.

It added that the product will enable the proper storage and distribution of vaccines, and has been designed and tested to meet International Safe Transit Association 7D/7E requirements.

“BHSB intends to partner and work with established product distributors to leverage their industry expertise and capabilities. In addition, the group intends to recruit and establish our own in-house team of sales and marketing professionals with the relevant industry experience to support the new business.

“BHSB intends to open up the market in the territories through partnerships and subdistribution agreements to market and distribute the products, while collaborating and working with established local product distributors in each territory,” Bintai Kinden said in a statement.

The group also said it is not aware of any risk factors and expects all agreements to contribute positively to the future earnings of its group.
