WCT Holdings Bhd today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary WCT Bhd has won a contract to extend and upgrade the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, for a contract sum of RM440.37 million.
The company, in a bourse filing, said its unit received a letter of acceptance dated March 23, 2021, issued by the Ministry of Transport Malaysia accepting WCT’s tender offer to undertake and execute as the main contractor of the project.
The works under the contract encompasses the building works, landside infrastructure works, airside infrastructure works and all engineering works for the design, construction, supply, installation, completion, testing, commissioning and maintenance of the existing Sultan Ismail Petra Airport.
The works under the contract are expected to commence in April 2021 and to complete in April 2024.
None of the directors or major shareholders of the company or persons connected with them have any interest, direct or indirect, in the award of the contract. – TMR
