25.4% people registered for Covid-19 vaccines

A total of 25.4% or 6,155,213 people aged 18 and above have registered for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) as of 11.59 pm last night, according to the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Khairy Jamaluddin.

He added that a total of 428,710 have received Covid-19 vaccine injections, of which 412,342 individuals have received the first dose and 16,368 individuals have received the second dose.

“A total of 53,935 doses were given in Selangor, thus emerging as the state with the highest vaccination, followed by Perak (49,518), Sarawak (43,007), Sabah (41,058) and Kuala Lumpur (36,316).

“Kuala Lumpur also emerged as the highest vaccination district involving 36,316 doses, while Kinta, Perak (17,056), Petaling (15,700), Kuantan (13,155) and North East, Penang (13,04),” he said in a press conference on the latest updates of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme today.

Khairy also noted that a total of 847,630 registration had been sent to the vaccination dispensing centres (PPV), while 426,935 appointments had been arranged so far.
