Covid 19: 1,354 cases, three new clusters


MALAYSIA recorded 1,354 new Covid-19 cases and detected three new clusters as of noon today, according to Health DG Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Out of the new infections, 14 were import cases.

Two out of three new clusters were identified from workplace in Johor and Selangor while another one was community cluster in Begalak, Sarawak. There are 424 active clusters nationwide while up to 813 clusters have ended.

The number of recovery cases stood at 1,782, pushing the number of total recoveries to 306,274.

The number of active cases fell to 16,279, with 158 patients are seeking treatment in the Intensive Care Units (ICU) and 71 are requiring respiratory aids.

Four new deaths, all involving Malaysians were reported, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,210.

Selangor reported the highest number of new cases with 577, followed by Sarawak (178) and Pulau Pinang (154)
