BHIC appoints Shazalli as non-independent director

DATUK Seri Mohamed Shazalli Ramly (picture) has been appointed as the non-independent director of Boustead Heavy Industries Corp Bhd (BHIC), according to a bourse filing by the group yesterday. Shazalli, 59, on March was appointed the non-independent non-executive chairman of Pharmaniaga Bhd. He was appointed as MD of Boustead Holdings Bhd in November 2020. In a separate filing, BHIC appoints Fahmy Ismail as its non-independent director. Fahmi who is Boustead Holdings’ group finance director ceased to be COO of the company in July 2020, in order to helm and focus on the group’s finance roles.

MK Land’s net profit up 58% on higher property revenue

MK LAND Holdings Bhd’s net profit increased by 58.4% to RM2.7 million in the second quarter ended June 30, 2021, mainly contributed by higher revenue in the property development segment. In an exchange filing, MK Land said the property development segment generated revenue amounting to RM51.3 million, representing 94.7% of the total revenue of the group, mostly generated from the sale of properties and construction progress from the projects in Damansara Damai and Taman Bunga Raya in the central region and Meru Perdana and Kle- bang Putra in the northern region. Revenue from the leisure segment declined by 67% from RM7.7 million to RM2.6 million, mainly due to lower occupancies and the water park was not in full operation during the current period as a result of the Movement Control Order.

TA Investment declares a GID of 0.6 sen per unit

TA INVESTMENT Management Bhd has declared a gross income distribution (GID) of 0.6 sen per unit for TA Dana Afif (TADA) to registered unitholders of the funds as at Feb 26, 2021. It said TADA aims to provide regular income while maintaining capital stability over the medium to long term by investing in a diversified portfolio of sukuk and Islamic liquid assets. — Bernama
