MyEG records RM76m profit for 4Q20
MYEG Services Bhd posted a net profit of RM75.51 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2020 (4Q20), on a revenue of RM149.89 million. For the financial year, the group recorded net profit of RM268.16 million and revenue of RM532.06 million respectively. In a filing to the stock exchange, the company said the contribution of revenue is primarily attributable to concession and ancillary related services, as well as online renewal of competent driving license and new businesses.
Sarawak Petchem awards job to Samsung Engineering
SAMSUNG Engineering Co, construction and engineering unit under South Korea’s Samsung Group, has secured a RM2.48 billion contract from Sarawak Petchem Sdn Bhd to build the Sarawak Methanol Project. According to the contract, Samsung Engineering will be tasked to construct the 5,000-tonne-per-day methanol production facility in Bintulu, Sarawak. The greenfield plant is expected to come on stream in 2023.
Datasonic partners PEPV for Vietnam e-passport
DATASONIC Group Bhd has entered into a teaming agreement with Pham Gia Ecocon Plus Vietnam Co Ltd (PEPV) in proposing e-passport and/or other ICT projects to the Ministry of Public Security of the Government of Socialist Republic of Vietnam. In an exchange filing yesterday, the company said it shall be PEPV exclusive ICT technology partner for the projects by providing ICT solutions and services; preparing the solution proposals and technical presentation activities for the potential projects; and projects professional services, including remote system support for software and backend.
Jamaludin Ibrahim appointed to Sunway’s board
SUNWAY Bhd has appointed QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd chairman Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim as an independent director effective yesterday. It has also appointed him as a member of its audit committee, the property and construction group said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia. Jamaludin has more than 40 years of business experience, including about 16 years in IT and 23 years in telecommunications. He retired from Axiata Group Bhd on Dec 31, 2020, having been the company’s MD/president and group CEO for almost 13 years since its inception in 2008. — Bernama
MAHB COO retires
DATUK Che Azmi Murad is retiring from his position as Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) COO effective today. He joined MAHB since its inception in 1992 and his career with the group has been wide-ranging, including as airport managers in several domestic and international airports.
