Covid-19: 1,828 new cases, Johor tops list


Malaysia records 1,828 new Covid-19 positive cases today, of which 1,821 were local transmissions and seven were import cases.  

Health DG Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Johor made most of the number today with 490 new cases, followed by Selangor with 453 cases and Sarawak with 220 cases.

The new cases have brought the country’s overall total to 302,580.            

There are now 25,542 active Covid-19 cases that are being treated at health facilities nationwide.   Among the active cases today, 198 were placed in the intensive care unit (ICU), with 90 of them requiring respiratory aid.            

A total of 2,486 patients have been discharged, increasing the total recovered cases in the country to 275,903, which equals 91.2%.                  

Five new deaths were reported today, increasing the overall Covid-19 death toll to 1,135.
