LAGENDA Properties Bhd has partnered Shopee to give home-buyers access to affordable properties on the virtual platform.
In a statement yesterday, Lagenda noted that the collaboration was meant to partly address the market demand for at least one million affordable homes.
“With the pandemic’s heightening of technology adoption, in collaboration with Shopee, Lagenda quickens its own digital journey to bring its townships to Malaysians. “Given buyers are presently unable to physically view desirable properties, virtual tours for the affordable properties have been made available,” Lagenda noted.
Adoption of digitalisation with virtual tours, e-commerce and increased engagement via online platforms are one of the key trends identified in the recent PropertyGuru Market Outlook 2021.
“Amid the current extended Movement Control Order, this timely effort aims to help increase access and reduce the burden of the bottom 40% (B40) segment, classified as households with average incomes below RM4,849,” it further added.
Through this partnership, buyers will be able to purchase cash vouch- ers on Lagenda’s Shopee page at RM88.88, which translate to a relief of RM1,888 for its Bandar Baru Setia Awan Perdana (BBSAP) development in Sitiawan or RM888 for the Lagenda Teluk Intan (LTI) development in Perak.
Given the terrace homes are priced at an affordable RM190,000 at BBSAP and RM171,000 at LTI developments, the vouchers will prove beneficial for the B40 market segment.
“Both projects have a combined development area of 2,000 acres (809.37ha) and 20,000 affordable homes, ranging from 900 to 1,390 sq ft,” said MD Datuk Jimmy Doh.
Lagenda aims to launch a new township in Tapah, Perak and in 2022, the company will develop its township in Sungai Petani, Kedah, Doh noted.
The properties available online are terrace houses, semi-detached and bungalows at both BBSAP and LTI townships. Limited units are allocated for this campaign and availability is based on a first-come, first-served basis.
This initiative is in conjunction with Chinese New Year and will be followed up with the Shopee 3.3 Sale next month.
