Malaysia recorded another 3,631 new Covid-19 positive cases today, of which 3,624 were local transmissions and seven imported cases.

The increase in the new cases has brought the country’s overall total to 165,371.

There are now 39,464 active cases that are being treated at health facilities nationwide.

Among the active cases today, 238 were placed in the intensive care unit (ICU), with 96 of them requiring respiratory aid.

Meanwhile, 2,944 patients have been discharged, increasing the total recovered cases in the country to 125,288, which equals 75.8%.

Health DG Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the Health Ministry also detected nine new Covid-19 clusters in the country over the last 24 hours.

Fourteen new deaths were reported today, increasing the overall Covid-19 death toll to 619.
