MoF looks to enhance Budget 2021 due to MCO 2.0

THE Finance Ministry (MoF) is looking at measures to improve the Budget 2021, following the implementation of various forms of Movement Control Order in the country.

“The MoF always listens and is ready to improve the initiatives when required. As such, with the implementation of various MCOs, the MoF is studying and discussing appropriate improvement on the Budget 2021 measures to ensure the welfare of the people and business continuity,” Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said today after giving the latest report of Laksana, the Unit Pelaksanaan dan Koordinasi Stimulus Ekonomi Antara Agensi Nasional.

As of Jan 1, 2021, he said 5,976 applications of Penjana SME (small and medium enterprise) Financing have been approved with a total value of RM1.15 billion.

On the Hiring Incentive Programme and Training Assistance, he said a total of 128,779 employees had managed to secure jobs through the programme as of Jan 1.

The total comprised 102,657 workers under the age of 40; 17,395 individuals in the age group of 40-60; as well as 7,382 apprentices and 1,345 persons with disabilities.
