THE operations of self-service laundromats will be allowed under the Movement Control Order (MCO) as long as there is a supervisor present in the premises.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that as long as a supervisor is present in the self-service laundromat premises to ensure that standard operating procedures (SOPs) are complied, the premise may remain open.
“There has to be the usual (SOPs), such as QR code for MySejahtera scan, hand sanitiser and someone to check the temperature of all entrants.
“We have revised all complaints we received especially coming from the youth who need the service and considering the rainy weather where more people need the dryer, we decided that laundromats may operate much like other shops, from 6am to 8pm,” he said at the media briefing for the daily movement control order (MCO) update.
Similarly, public parks in MCO states and areas will not be open, but families may partake in sports and leisure activities within their neighbourhoods.
