11 new clusters detected, almost half from workplace

MALAYSIA has detected another 11 new clusters, with five originated from workplace in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur (KL).

The five workplace clusters are Taman Intergrasi, Jalan Ijuk in Selangor, Jalan Thamby, Jalan Kasturi  in KL and Taman Batik in Kedah.

Selangor remains reporting the highest number of daily Covid-19 cases with 837, followed by Johor with 535 and Sabah at 450 cases.

Health DG Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said for Jan 13,  the country reported 2,985 new cases.

“This has increased the current cumulative total to 144,518 cases, while the active ones with possibility for infection at 32,377.

“From the total, two of the cases are imported and of the new cases, 2,109 of them are locals, while 874 are non-locals,” he said in his Covid-19 briefing today.
