Rina said in a statement yesterday that she has been admitted to Hospital Sungai Buloh for further treatment.
The Cabinet is on high alert with more ministers undergoing self-quarantine as a precaution after being identified as close contacts to the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed who tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday.
At least two ministers are self-isolating themselves, namely Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions) Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof and Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, according to a report by a local daily.
Mohd Redzuan said he will be screened for Covid-19 and remain quarantined as a precautionary measure.
“As an identified close contact, I will undergo a swab test and remain in isolation as directed,” Mohd Redzuan was quoted as saying in the report.
Similarly, Saifuddin said he will be taking a swab test and would stay in isolation until given full clearance by the Health Ministry after a second screening.
Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia leaders, who attended the recent supreme leadership council meeting with Mustapa, were ordered to take the Covid-19 test.
According to a statement by his office, Mustapa had undergone the screening test upon arrival in Kota Baru from Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.
He has been warded at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II in Kota Baru, Kelantan, since 10.30pm on Saturday night. He is said to be in a stable condition.
Mustapa was previously tested on Jan 1 and his results were negative, the statement read.
Meanwhile, Bernama reported that Galas state assemblyman Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim and his wife tested positive for Covid-19 after taking a swab test on Sunday.
They are currently receiving treatment at the Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital in Kuala Krai, Kelantan.
