152 arrested for MCO violations

A total of 152 individuals were arrested for violating the Movement Control Order (MCO) yesterday, of which a majority of them were caught for premises failing to record customer details and not wearing face masks.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said of the total number of arrests, all of them were compounded.

Under Ops Benteng, the authorities have detained 29 illegal immigrants, as well as seized four land vehicles and three boats.

From Jul 24 until Jan 4, a total of 98,286 individuals arrived at all international entrances and have been placed in 74 hotels and 17 other premises.

Of the total figure, 7,805 individuals are undergoing mandatory quarantine while 540 individuals were sent to hospitals for treatment.

Meanwhile, a total of 89,941 individuals were allowed to return home.
