PETRONAS Gas Bhd (PetGas), a subsidiary of Petronas, extends its steam supply to Japan-owned Polyplastics Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd, the new business secured following an agreement sealed last year.
PetGas aims to be the best solutions partner to its customers while continuing to sustain good operational performance at all of the company’s assets nationwide, said its MD/CEO Kamal Bahrin Ahmad in a virtual event yesterday to commemorate the event.
Steam is being co-generated together with the electricity from its 350MW highly efficient and world-class performance co-generation facility located in Gebeng, Pahang, which has been the main driver since 1999 in providing total utilities solutions and offering competitive power and steam tariff to its portfolio of customers.
Other than Gebeng, PetGas also operates similar facilities in Kerteh, Terengganu, to serve the Kerteh Integrated Petrochemical Complex.
Polyplastics Asia Pacific is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Polyplastics Ltd Co, Japan, and was set up in 1997. It is involved in the business of engineering plastics and is a certified multinational company devoted to innovation and new value.
In April 2019, both PetGas and Polyplastics Asia Pacific entered into two separate long-term sales and purchase agreements. The first agreement was for the new supply of steam, while the second one was for the extension of existing electricity supply between the two parties.
