412 arrested for defying MCO

THERE were 412 arrests related to the Movement Control Order (MCO) where 403 individuals were compounded while nine were remanded, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says. 
 
In a statement today, he said among the offenses include failure to practice physical distancing (135), entertainment centre activities (113), not wearing face masks (64), failure to provide equipment to record customers’ details (59), interstate or inter-district travel in Conditional MCO areas without permission (27), and others (14). 
 
On Ops Benteng, 51 illegal immigrants and 11 tekongwere detained while one boat and two vehicles were seized. 
 
A total of 41 sanitation operations covering 10 red zones, five orange zones, 11 yellow zones and two green zones were conducted nationwide. 
 
From July 24 to Dec 3, approximately 81,240 individuals have returned to the country from abroad and all have been housed in 75 hotels and 17 other premises. 
 
Of that number, a total of 11,682 individuals are undergoing mandatory quarantine while 509 individuals were taken to hospital for treatment and 69,049 individuals were allowed to return home.
