311 arrested for violating MCO regulations

A total of 311 individuals were arrested for violating the Movement Control Order (MCO) yesterday, in which a majority or 97 of them were caught for not wearing face masks.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said of the total number of arrests, 306 of them were compounded while five were remanded.  

Under Ops Benteng, the authorities have detained 14 illegal immigrants, as well as seized three boats and one land vehicle.

From Jul 24 until Nov 30, a total of 79,128 individuals arrived at all international entrances and have been placed in 78 hotels and 17 other premises.  

From the total figure, 11,270 individuals are undergoing mandatory quarantine while 502 individuals were sent to hospitals for treatment.  

Meanwhile, a total of 67,356 individuals were allowed to return home.
