FIVE new Covid-19 clusters have been identified in the country as of noon today.
The clusters are the Gangsa Cluster in Selangor; Batu Tujuh and Tanjung Bunga clusters in Johor; Kerengge Cluster in Terengganu; and D’Bajaru Cluster in Sabah.
Meanwhile, the country recorded 970 new Covid-19 cases today, involving 965 local transmissions and five imported cases.
Negri Sembilan reported the highest number of cases with 318 cases, followed by Sabah with 293 cases and Selangor with 115 new cases.
The new cases today have brought the country’s overall total to 59,817.
There are now 12,971 active Covid-19 cases that are being treated at health facilities nationwide.
Among the active cases today, 110 were placed in the intensive care unit (ICU), with 47 of them requiring respiratory aid.
A total of 2,348 patients have been discharged today, increasing the total recovered cases in the country to 46,501, which equals 77.5%.
There were four Covid-19 related deaths today, involving two from Sabah and one each from Penang and Labuan.
The deceased were between 54 and 77 years old, with two of them having histories of critical illnesses.
This has brought the country’s Covid-19 death toll to 345.
